Arne Slot (born 17 September 1978 in Bergentheim, Netherlands) was a midfielder during his playing career. Before retiring in 2013 he made over 400 appearances at clubs such as FC Zwolle, NAC Breda, and Sparta Rotterdam. Slot then transitioned into coaching, beginning with youth sides at PEC Zwolle and working as an assistant at SC Cambuur and AZ Alkmaar. He was appointed AZ’s head coach in 2019, finishing runners-up in the Eredivisie.
Success with Feyenoord
Slot became the manager of Feyenoord in 2021. He led the team to the UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2022 and secured the Eredivisie title last season.
