Michael Kelly Norvell ( Mike Norvell ) date of birth, 11 October 1981) from Irving, Texas. He played wide receiver for coach Mike Barber. A former Houston Oilers tight end, at Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington, Texas. Norvell graduated and walked on at Louisiana Tech in 2000. Before transferring to the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in 2001. He caught 213 passes for 2,611 yards and 15 touchdowns at UCA both school records. As a senior in 2005, he helped the team win the Gulf South Conference title and reach the NCAA Division II playoffs quarterfinals.
Coaching Career
In 2006, he started his coaching career at UCA as a graduate assistant. He was then a graduate assistant at Tulsa from 2007-2008, before working his way up to passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach. He spent the 2011 season as Pittsburgh’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. The next year, he went to Arizona State. Where he became associate head coach while also serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
